NEW ANTIVIRUS REVIEW & RATINGS- DECEMBER 2010

Good morning. How are we preparing for the end of the year/ new year holidays?

Just recently, AV COMPARATIVES, the IT Security Products Review Company that rates AV products (both the anti-virus and security suites) quarterly, has recently released two new end of the year reports this month of December.

The first report is called RETROSPECT/DETECTION TEST. It seeks to rate av products based on claims of high detection rates by the anti-virus software vendors. 15 products were analyzed and reviewed including: The eScan Anti-virus version 10.0, AVIRA AntiVir Premium 10.0, Kaspersky Anti-Virus 2011, BitDefender Anti-Virus 2011, Microsoft Security Essentials 1.0 G DATA AntiVirus 2011, ESET NOD32 Antivirus 4.2 e.t.c.

The second report is titled, PERFORMANCE TEST. It seeks to investigate the impact of anti-virus software on System Performance.
Here are the products tested: The New eScan Antivirus11.0, AVIRA AntiVir Premium 10.0, AVG Anti-virus 2011, ESET NOD32 Antivirus 4.2, McAfee VirusScan Plus 2011,
Symantec Norton Anti-virus 2011 e.t.c.

In the summary pages of the two reports, after the various parameters applied to test the products, eScan Antivirus 10.0 and 11.0 & AVIRA were two products that came up tops under CERTIFICATION LEVELS with  ADVANCED + 3 STAR PRODUCT.
These test conducted were very detailed. Irrespective of the anti-virus product you are currently using, the reprorts are a must download!
